Tyke – Do It Now EP
Hype and Pascal present the latest EP from Playaz’ young upstart, Tyke. Tyke has become known for his warm sound – honed on his beloved analogue outboard gear – and diverse approach, and this EP will not disappoint.
The title track ‘Do It Now’ was aired on Crissy Cris’ show back in March – it’s a sick tune with a crazy zombie-ish vocal and Tyke’s standout heavy bass vibes.
Up next is ‘Big Sound’, with a skanking dirty bassline and featuring the skatty vocals of veteran MC Daddy Earl (part of the Heatwave soundsystem along with Hype) and then Tyke teams up with Prestige & Cat Knight on ‘Keep Shining’ – a track which also features on his guestmix for Sunbeatz.
‘Hold a Thought in Your Hand’ is a futurish, intelligent dnb track – Hype played this one on his Kiss show recently – and the EP rounds off with the fast paced, melodic mentalness of ‘Bad’.
